The degree granted from the professional training level is that of Bachelor of Social Sciences, which will have a profile to work mainly as a Social Sciences teacher in basic, secondary, and higher education institutions characterized by:
– Being a Bachelor of Social Sciences, who promotes from a socio-cultural perspective respect and welcome for diversity and educational inclusion.
– Being a comprehensive education professional, capable of solving disciplinary, pedagogical, and didactic problems in their contexts of action.
– Being a reflective professional, with the capacity to undertake transformation initiatives in the classroom and the educational context that benefit learning and the development of capacities in different populations and levels of basic training,
– Being a comprehensive professional trained to generate relevant practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of Education and Social Sciences, and also using them as tools for research in this and other disciplines.

The applicant for the Bachelor of Social Sciences program must have the following characteristics.

– Equivalents from other careers associated with education or social sciences.
– All those with a liking for social sciences and committed to developing teaching strategies that foster creativity, autonomy, and flexibility in social and human thought.
Occupational Profile
The graduate of the Bachelor of Social Sciences from Iberoamericana is an education professional with a critical, participatory, regenerative, complex, and dynamic vision of their immediate reality. Therefore, with their comprehensive training, they are capable of generating relevant practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of Education and Social Sciences, and also uses them as tools for research in this and other disciplines, so that they are prepared to analyze, understand, and explain macro-social and micro-social processes.
In line with the Institutional Educational Inclusion Project, the Social Sciences educator will be recognized for their knowledge in politics, regulations, project design, as well as in attention to and respect for diversity. The graduate will be able to:

Therefore, the graduate profile of the Bachelor of Social Sciences is reaffirmed in the institutional identity from its focus and theoretical perspective and, with it, proposes a deployment of actions for the training of a professional who initially understands diversity and its pluralities in basic and secondary education settings and can subsequently carry out inclusive intervention processes. In other words, this profile aligns with the institutional mission by enabling the training of education professionals nationwide through the virtual methodology, a fact that brings into dialogue the dynamics of global knowledge, progress in the area of educational sciences at the regional and local levels, along with disciplinary trends.

This program bases its actions on the ability to provide students in training with a critical, interdisciplinary, and analytical perspective of different social processes, as well as their historical evolution, and their political and social impacts. Based on this theoretical, practical, and investigative context, the aim is to provide the necessary knowledge from different pedagogical and didactic techniques and methodologies to communicate their knowledge and inspire and motivate young people, girls, and boys to study the different aspects of social sciences.
It offers two lines of specialization: The first; Latin American social problems and the social environment of post-conflict in Colombia, with 3 elective courses:
- Social Problems in Latin America.
- Post-conflict in Colombia.
- Social Sciences Education for Diversity and Inclusion in Post-conflict Colombia.
The second line of specialization called; Critical Thinking and ICT is made up of three elective courses:
- Paulo Freire and Pedagogy for Transformation.
- Manuel Castells and Communication in Education.
- Gamification in Education.
It articulates with the master's programs offered by the University.
Program Objective
To train social sciences teachers from a multidimensional perspective that includes aspects aimed at mastering disciplinary content in the specific area of social sciences, understanding pedagogical principles that underpin the professional work of the teacher, knowledge of contextualized teaching strategies specific to the discipline, the use of new technologies as forms of knowledge mediation, the ability to communicate, manage and promote concrete actions that involve ethics, morals and politics in their commitment to social transformation from their pedagogical and professional practice.
